A Course In Weight Loss Review

A Course In Weight Loss by Marianne Willamson

I just received a book in the mail today entitled A Course In Weight Loss by Marianne Willamson.  Life never ceases to amaze me in the way that it flows. When you are connected to the right people the information you need at the exact time you need it just seems to show up.

A few weeks back my friends Jon Satin and Chris Pattay, The Possibility Coaches, recommended a book entitled “Gifts From A Course In Miracles” by the same author. As their reading recommendations are always spot on with where I’m at in my journey I was happy to take their advice. The book has been amazing! Through similar channels, A Course In Weight Loss was also recommended. When I saw that it, too, was written by Marianne Willamson then I knew it was meant to be.

Instead of reading the entire book and then writing a review I decided that I’m going to blog my way through this book. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do but have never really found the right book to suit my passion.

So far I have read the the foreword by the founder and president of the Preventive Medicine Research Institute, Dean Ornish, M.D. as well as the introduction. What I’ve already read falls directly in line with what I believe to be the truth about weight loss, which is that weight loss takes place in the mind and then the body follows.

Even though I have lost more than 100 pounds now I am still working toward my target body weight of 200 pounds. A lot of what I have lost has come off through dietary changes and vigorous exercise but I’ve hit a plateau as of late and I’m certain that there’s something in this book that is going to help me bypass this. It’s not a hunch or a gut feeling, it’s because A Course In Weight Loss is here for a reason. It found me because it has answers to the questions I’ve been asking.

Just based on what I’ve read so far I believe that this book is a wake up call for those who are struggling with their weight and are looking for information, products and/or services to help them get rid of it. I can already tell that there will be some tough personal work which will come of this book but no guts, no glory. If getting rid of this last 34 pounds requires me to dig even deeper to find the root cause of why I’m holding on then I say “bring it on!”

A Course In Weight Loss makes several high impact statements by the time you hit the second page of the introduction. One that really grabbed me was “Neither poor diet or lack of exercise are the cause of your excess weight. Mind is cause, body is effect. The cause of your excess weight is in your mind.” I can only imagine, based on that example, what lies ahead.

I look forward to sharing the journey through A Course In Weight Loss with you.

Cheers!

Rex
