I watch Google Insights religiously and the name Dawn French continues to remain at the top of the list as a trending and breakout keyword. This is a celebrity weight loss story I haven’t targeted simply because there’s been so much other interesting stuff to write about. Not that Dawn French is not interesting, because she certainly is (and she’s funny as all get out), there were just other topics that made it easy to plug in and go.
That being said, when I started doing the research for this blog post this morning, much of what I found regarding the Dawn French weight loss story was based around the speculation that she underwent gastric bypass surgery. It appears, based on further investigation, that there is no truth to that at all.
Gastric bypass surgery is not a topic I’ve covered here on Ask The Weight Loss Maven, as of yet. The main reason I have not covered it is because, for a long time, my opinion was biased toward it. You’ve probably heard the horror stories of gastric bypass surgery gone wrong, as I have. Based on that alone I don’t understand the compulsion or belief that this type of extreme weight loss is necessary when all you need to do to transform your body is to get your mind and body on the same page.
I commend Dawn French for making a stand, in the media, when she was confronted with the method in which she lost the weight. According to Dailymail.Co.UK, Ann Diamond was quoted as publicly speculating that Dawn French could have only accomplished what she did, in regards to the weight lost, by swallowing a gastric band. Dawn made it very clear that the weight was eliminated through “eating less and walking more.” Pretty simple, and VERY effective.
Here’s the thing… when it comes to making a decision to transform your body it is equally important, if not more so, to create the ideal image of your perfect body type in your mind as it is to diet and exercise. Again, if your mind and body are not on the same page, it doesn’t matter whether you use Xyng, Hydroxycut, Weight Watchers, or gastric bypass surgery. If you don’t change your image of you, the old you will come back.
Dawn French Weight Loss Interview
Dawn French, in her own words, makes it very clear that regardless of which product, supplement or method of you choose, as part of your weight loss transformation, that the old fashioned still works as well as anything else. As someone who has lost more than 100 pounds, to get where I am today, I’m here to tell you that regardless of the supplement, pills or potions you use, you still have to go out and sweat. More importantly, you need to also focus on mental fitness so the mind and body are working in unison.
Every time you eat, any time you go for a workout, invest the time in focusing on your ideal body image. Create that picture and focus on it all the time. Create that image and focus on it 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. If you do this consistently, for 40 days, your mind will get on board and begin to assist you in the transformation process. Trust, this works!
