Wouldn’t it be great if that were the case? What if we could eat whatever we want, whenever we want and in portion sizes that would make Sumo wrestlers jealous? To hear many of the fast weight loss plans and product gurus talk about it on the TV they sure make it sound easy. 1.) Get Your Mind Right – Your mind creates your reality. If your mind is fat then your body will be fat. If you have a negative self impression it will reflect on the body. Thoughts become things. See a healthy, fit and active body and you will reflect a healthy, fit and active body. Make meditation as big a part of the lifestyle improvement as the exercise and dietary improvements. Forget about fast weight loss, it doesn’t work.
2.) Count Calories – “Seriously dude? Did you just tell me to count calories?” Yes I did! Returning to your normal healthy body weight is mathematically certain when you count calories. People manage the numbers in their bank account in regards to their money, doesn’t it stand to reason we can do the same thing with our food intake? Calories are a measure of fuel. Too many calories and you gain weight. Too few and you lose weight. It’s that simple. Go to My Fitness Pal, create a free account and use their calculator to learn your numbers then stick to them.
3.) Exercise – That’s right, burn off some of those calories and you will lose weight. Walk, jog, run, bike, lift weights, take your kids out to kick a soccer ball around. You don’t need a diet or fitness guru to sell you the next big weight loss secret to return to a normal, healthy body weight. All you need is common sense and the WILLINGNESS to do the right things. That includes some exercise.
4.) DON’T TRY To Lose Weight Fast – Get out of the fast weight loss mindset. You don’t need to lose weight, you need to return to your normal, healthy body weight. Your body is overweight because you are consuming more calories then it needs. Therefore it is storing the excess fuel as fat. Unless you are planning to spend the winter traversing the wilds of Alaska in your birthday suit, you don’t need the excess fat. Reduce the amount of calories and increase the amount of activity and your body will return to where you it should be.
5.) Love You – Many people turn to food for comfort. They turn to food to deal with anger and other negative emotions. Excessive weight means that you are holding on to something unhealthy. Perhaps you are holding on to stress, doubt, fear or worry. Perhaps you are carrying a grudge. Remember, thoughts become things. Heavy burdens show on the body. It’s the law of cause and effect. Forgive yourself, love yourself and move forward. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow isn’t here yet. All you have is now so enjoy it!
