Talk about a wake up call, after losing seven friends to heart attacks Fat Joe decided it was time to do something about his weight. It turns out that, in recent months, Fat Joe is not quite so Fat Joe as he has lost an amazing 88 pounds without the aid of any supplements or fat burners. That’s impressive!
So what’s the secret to the Fat Joe weight loss story? Again, as it is with most celebrities they go and work it off. Fat Joe used cardio and weight training to shed the weight and regain control of his body and appetite. His dietary change consisted of a transition from Burger King and KFC to lean meats, fruits and veggies.
We’re starting to see a trend with these celebrity weight loss stories that I hope people are paying close attention to. The bottom line is that anything worth having in life is worth working for. Taking the easy road to weight loss or any other lifestyle change leaves no room for reward. Concerning weight loss, people who try to cheat their way thin usually put the weight back on because they have missed the key component to successful weight loss… the mental transition.
When you put your body through a rigorous workout it gives you room for pause and focus. What most people don’t realize that it is during this time that you can also deal with any mental demons that could be keeping you from your goals and objectives in life to include weight loss, wealth and peace of mind.
You have to get the mind right before the body will follow. Fat Joe got a wake up call as he watched seven friends die of heart attacks due to unhealthy living and diet. Perhaps, if you are struggling to lose weight, you can use the story of Fat Joe to wake up and realize that it’s time to make the change for the better and do what needs to get done.
I realize that the thought of exercise is a scary proposition to a lot of people because their is pain and discomfort involved in the beginning. When I started my journey I weighed 339 pounds and was three weeks out of open heart surgery. I can relate with the pain. One doctor told me “Rex, you’ll never bench press more than 50 pounds again.” Little did he know. My mind is not built to accept that type of limitation, and neither is yours.
Now I’m not telling you to forsake what your doctor has told you and go crazy. What I am saying is that when you incorporate your mind into the plan of action to create your new body that things which seem almost miraculous will happen. Your mind is directly connected to infinite power, strength, wisdom and love. All you have to do is wake up and plug back in.
Don’t let your mind trick you into believing that the overweight body you see in the mirror is WHO YOU ARE. That’s a lie. Your body is a vehicle and your mind is a tool. They ARE NOT who you are. Who you are is THE LIFE that uses and directs those tools. When you find you again then amazing things will begin to happen.
In closing, just a quick shout out to Fat Joe on a job well done man! You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers as you continue on your journey… as will all of you who are ready to make the change.
Cheers!
Rex

Rex,
This is an outstanding post! So much more goes into weight loss than most people realize. The lifestyle change starts in the mind, and sometimes we need to get rid of things we have been suppressing for years. So much physical and mental work involved in weight loss, but so worth it in the end!
Kudos to Fat Joe!!
