Flaxseed Oil: Fighting Fat With Fat

Flaxseed oil is a good fat that fights bad fat but how much is right for you?

Tonight I’m working with a friend who is getting ready to create her first blog post using the key phrase flaxseed oil benefits.

For those who have been following Ask The Weight Loss Maven, for any length of time, my sincere apologies for delay in this latest post. I was called away about two weeks ago to deal with a family situation and am just now getting back to work.

To be completely honest, as usual, I don’t really know much about flaxseed oil as a nutritional supplement. What I do know about flaxseed oil is that it’s a healthy fat. If you are serious about losing weight and reducing body fat then you will need a certain amount of fat in your diet. It goes along with the old adage “fight fire with fire”, so to speak. In this case we are fighting fat with fat.

There is a ton of information on flaxseed oil all over the Internet. I don’t really see a lot of sense in saying the same things that everyone else has said regarding flaxseed oil, how it works, etc. I believe it will be more beneficial to simply share with you the benefit of flaxseed oil in a diet that has been created for the purposes of weight reduction.

When it comes to losing weight the more balanced your diet, the better. One of the biggest mistakes people make, when it comes to losing weight, is buying into the belief that eliminating fat equals accelerated weight loss. This is not the case. If your body is not getting what it needs, from any nutritional aspect, it will hold on to what it has been storing. In the case of excess fat, the idea is to get rid of it, not to trigger your body to hold on.

Flaxseed oil is an ideal fat because of the numerous health and nutritional benefits it offers. There are also other healthy fats you can use to incorporate into a weight loss based diet as well. I’ve used olive oil, coconut oil and even egg yokes to ensure I’m getting enough fat to keep the fat burning.

Our friends at Synergistic Nutrition are recommending and using Walnut Oil as a healthy fat as well.  This is a fantastic site for everything nutritional to include One World Whey Protein, Mineral Magic and more.
