Last night while I was doing some keyword research for another blog post here at Ask The Weight Loss Maven I ran across a cool social networking site and calorie tracker called My Fitness Pal.
Previous to my discovery of My Fitness Pal I wasn’t certain as to what it actually was. I knew there was a mobile phone application by the name of My Fitness Pal but I had no idea that there was an online presence built around it.
I quickly realized that this would be a great place to connect with other weight loss and fitness enthusiasts so I created a free account. While I’m not 100% certain that the calorie counter macros are accurate, what I am liking is the social network set up and feel that you get through use of My Fitness Pal.
The forums at My Fitness Pal are very active and it doesn’t take long to start making friends once you start participating. While it’s much more simple than Facebook, the live feed, status updates and ability to communicate with friends makes it a very cool social networking platform.
Once you have created your account you can track food intake, plan weight loss, track exercise and more. With use of the mobile phone application you can do all of this while away from the laptop, PC or office.
The people using this network, so far, have been very friendly are helpful and ready to offer assistance to those who have questions about losing weight or getting in shape.
For those of you who are working a MLM based business I don’t recommend that you go in there with the intention of selling. The rules are very strict in those regards. However, if you take the time to make some friends, build a few relationships and share some value with people the opportunity to share what you do or which products you have access to will arise as you connect via other networks like Twitter, Facebook, etc.
To join My Fitness pal and start using the free calorie tracker and social network, click here.
Cheers!
